Kamishiro Ski Area stood in the Kamishiro district of Hakuba village, right next to today's Hakuba Goryu. Founded in 1950, it had the third ski lift built in Hakuba, running up beside the Kamishiro Ski Hutte, and its upper slope was once linked to Goryu's Champion Expert Course. The ski grounds around it grew into Goryu Toomi, the resort now called Hakuba Goryu. Kamishiro's own lift seems to have stopped around the 1982 season, and the run vanished from ski maps by the late 1980s. Since 2016-17 the old slope has been signed on Hakuba Goryu's map as the ungroomed, experts-only Kamishiro Tree Area, opened when conditions allow, and the Goryu Katakuri flower park lies near its former base.
