Hida Highland Ski Area Closed
Official name 飛騨ハイランドスキー場
Gifu
Open 1973–2016
Hida Highland was a ski area on the Sugo plateau in Furukawa, Hida City, just off Route 41, opened in 1973. Two pair lifts served four runs between about 840 and 1,140 m, and the lower slopes doubled as a golf course in summer. Its operator filed for civil rehabilitation in 2010 and the business passed to a new company, but operation became intermittent and it has not opened since around 2016. The lifts still stand, the hotel has closed, and the lower area remains a golf course.
