Heavens Sonohara Snow World trail map
Heavens Sonohara Snow World sits on the Fujimidai Highlands in Achi, southern Nagano. A gondola of about 15 minutes climbs to a top station at roughly 1,400 m, where the slopes begin and the Southern Alps line the horizon, sometimes above a sea of clouds. Five runs range from the gentle Angel run to the 30-degree Tricky South and the 2 km Rindo cruiser through snow-laden trees. Kids World offers sledding and tubing, and guided snowshoe walks head toward the Fujimidai plateau. It is about five minutes from Sonohara IC on the Chuo Expressway, with Hirugami Onsen at the foot of the mountain.
