Mt. Chausu Highland Ski Resort trail map
Mt. Chausu Highland Ski Resort, on the Chausuyama plateau in Toyone village, is the only ski area in Aichi Prefecture. From the top at about 1,358 m you look out over the Southern Alps. Two pair lifts and moving carpets serve a gentle family slope, two 1,000 m runs for beginners and intermediates, and the ungroomed C course with pitches up to 30 degrees. With a dedicated sledding slope, a snow-play area and a weekend ski school, it is popular with families with small children. It is a ski-first hill where snowboarding is allowed only on weekdays, and children of primary-school age and under ride free on Saturdays. The season usually runs from late December into March.
