Hakusanmori was a small city-run ski hill about 5 km west of central Nagai, Yamagata, off Route 287. Opened in the early 1980s, it had a 255 m surface lift and a short rope tow on gentle slopes with about 55 m of vertical, used mainly by locals and for school ski lessons, and it offered night skiing. It closed after the 2010-11 season, with its last day on 25 February 2011 marked by a volunteer-run thank-you event. The lifts have since been removed.
