Hakuba Highland Snow Park, long known as Hakuba Highland Ski Area, was a small hill in the Warabidaira district of Hakuba, right in front of the Hakuba Highland Hotel. Opened in 1972, it had a pair lift and a triple lift serving four runs, with the Northern Alps straight ahead from the top. Easy for beginners and used by school ski trips, it drew about 39,000 visitors in 1992. Numbers then fell and operators changed several times; the last ran it as Hakuba Highland Snow Park from 2007 until it closed on 1 March 2009. The lifts were removed in autumn 2010, and the old slope can still be walked from the hotel for the view.
