Bibakarasu Ski Area Closed
Official name 剣淵町びばからすスキー場
Hokkaido
Open 1982–2007
Bibakarasu Ski Area was a town-run hill about 3 km from central Kembuchi in northern Hokkaido. Opened in 1982 with a single chairlift and floodlights over the whole slope, it was a place for local families and beginners. The name joins 'viva' with karasu, the crows that gathered there, and a cartoon of skiing crows was its symbol. It closed in 2007, and the old slopes are now the Viva Alpaca Farm, where the former lodge serves as a rest house.
