Mt. Shirakusayama is a 1,641-meter peak on the border between Gero City in Gifu Prefecture and Ōtaki Village in Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture, part of the Atera Range south of Mt. Ontake. From the Norimasa / Kurodani forest-road gate trailhead about 25 minutes northeast of Gero Onsen, a roughly 2.5-hour route ascends past a ridge viewpoint and the Hakoiwa-yama junction to a broad bamboo-grass summit that offers a 360-degree panorama featuring Mt. Ontake close at hand and the Northern Alps and Mt. Norikura in the distance. It is included in the Gifu Hyakuzan, Hida Hyakuzan, Tōkai-no-Hyakuzan, and Gifu Hyakushūzan lists.
