Mt. Onigatake

Onigatake is a 1,738 m peak on the main ridge of the Misaka Mountains in Yamanashi, straddling Fujikawaguchiko Town and Fuefuki City. Its summit is crowned by an upthrust pinnacle resembling a demon's horn, from which hikers take in Mount Fuji, Lake Saiko, the Southern Alps, the Yatsugatake range and the Kōfu basin. The advanced traverse from the Bunkadō Tunnel over Kenashiyama, Jūnigatake and Onigatake down to Negane on Lake Saiko features chained sections and exposed rock ridges, and is one of the routes featured in Yamanashi's prefectural hiking guide.
