Mt. Mizuiyama

Mizuiyama is a 793.9 m peak on the boundary between Sakamoto in Ōtsu City, Shiga Prefecture, and Ōhara in Kyoto City's Sakyō Ward, on the northern main ridge of the Hiei range. It sits on the spine that links Enryaku-ji's Yokawa-chūdō with Ōgi-tōge above Ōhara and is traversed by both the Kyoto Circuit Trail and the Hira-Hiei Trail. Paired with the neighbouring Yokotakayama it forms a twin-summit ridge; the wooded summit itself offers little view but the descents to Ōhara and the Ōmi Basin are popular. The peak appears in several regional lists, including "Ōhara no Sato 10 Meizan" and "Ōmi Hyakuzan".
