Shimegatake is an 838 m mountain in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, forming the Kyoto-side summit of Mount Hiei with Daihiei (848 m) on the Shiga side. The summit area lies within Garden Museum Hiei. Unpaved hiking paths lead to Enryakuji’s Todo and Saito areas in 30–40 minutes on foot.
