Mt. Kyogatsukayama is an 889-meter peak in southeastern Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, forming part of the Otowa Sanzan trio together with Mt. Otowa and Mt. Kumagatake on the southeastern edge of the Nara Basin. Its name derives from a legend that Buddhist sutras were buried on its summit to ward off misfortune at the demon-gate quarter of nearby Tonomine, and a stone lantern still stands on its flat peak. It is featured in the prefectural guide "Mountains of Nara Prefecture" and the "Nara Hyakuyuzan" list of 100 recommended Nara mountains.
