Snow Park Dorogawa is a tiny ski area above the Dorogawa hot spring village in Tenkawa, Nara, at about 960 to 1,040 m, and one of very few snow slopes on the Kii Peninsula. Its single slope of around 400 m suits beginners and intermediates, and many visitors are families who come to sled, though the dry high-altitude snow also draws better skiers. Two rope tows pull you up, and the old lodge is heated by a wood stove. Run by the local Dorogawa property ward, it opens only when there is enough snow, and the Dorogawa onsen is close by for a soak afterwards.
