Kanayama is a 1,686 m peak on the main ridge of the Misaka Mountains, on the border of Fujikawaguchiko Town and Fuefuki City in Yamanashi, sitting between Jūnigatake and Setchōgatake. The summit itself is hemmed in by forest, but the peak is a key waypoint on the Misaka traverse linking Kenashiyama, Jūnigatake and Onigatake; Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Saiko open up just west towards Setchōgatake.
