Mt. Kamafusayama

Mt. Kamafusayama is a 384.8 m peak in the Hasekura district of Kawasaki Town in Miyagi's Shibata County, encircled by Lake Kamafusa on its north, east and south sides. It is the prominent summit of the Kamafusa Lake Prefectural Nature Conservation Area, where its cliffs harbour rock-dwelling plants such as Spiraea nipponica, Kirinsō, Aoi-warenge and Kumono-su-shida, and the lake hosts wintering Whooper Swan, Mallard and other waterfowl. The summit looks across to the Zaō range and Lake Kamafusa, and the peak is listed in the Mountains of Miyagi (New Prefecture Climbing Guide).
