Mt. Jūkanzan

Mt. Jūkanzan, 1,284.5 m, rises in Aoki Village, Chiisagata District, Nagano Prefecture, and is one of the 'Aoki Three Mountains' together with Koganbu-dake and Ogami-dake. The name suggests 'a view in ten directions', and the easterly-cleared summit indeed opens onto a 360° panorama from the Northern and Southern Alps to the Five Peaks of North Shinano, Mt. Asama and the Ueda Basin. Reached in just 35 minutes from the trailhead near Tazawa Onsen (parking opposite the Yokote Campsite and Insect Museum), it is the easiest of the three peaks and is published as an official hiking course by Aoki Village.
