Mount Kokuzo is a 1,139-meter peak on the boundary between the Shiga district of Matsumoto and Chikuhoku Village in Higashi-Chikuma District, Nagano Prefecture, locally called Aida-Fuji for its conical resemblance to Mt. Fuji when seen from the south. The summit was the site of Kokuzosan Castle, a stronghold of the Aida clan in the Sengoku period, and its slopes hold Iwaya Shrine, dedicated to Akasagarbha Bodhisattva. It is included in lists such as Japan's 100 Furusato Fuji and the 120 Mountains of Shinshu.
