Mt. Azumayasan is a 1,387 m peak straddling Chikuhoku and Omi in Higashi-Chikuma District of Nagano Prefecture, one of the "Chikuhoku Sanzan" trio with Mt. Kamuriki and Mt. Hijiri. Its summit hosts the inner shrine of Azumaya Shrine surrounded by an old-growth beech grove. Four maintained trails ascend from Sakakita (Nakamura and Kariyazawa), Honjō (Tochihirasawa), and Sakai (Kusayu Onsen), with an observation deck offering views of the Northern Alps. The peak is featured in Nagano-ken no Yama (Bunken Tozan Guide), Shinshū Furusato 120-zan, and Nagano-ken no Meihō Hyakusen.
