Mt. Jatōgeyama is a 1,664-meter peak at the meeting point of Namiai in Achi Village, Hiraya Village, and Wagō in Anan Town in Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture — one of the Achi Seven Summits. The ridge is said to have served as a signal-fire platform for the Takeda Shingen forces, and the adjoining Alps Observatory overlooks the Northern, Central, and Southern Alps, Mt. Ontake, and neighboring Mt. Ōkawairi. The standard route from Jibusaka Kōgen crosses the "horse-back" ridge at 1,500 m to reach the antenna-clad summit, with a forest road permitting vehicle access as far as the horse back. The Namiai tourism association runs winter snowshoe trekking here. It is famously the last mountain climbed by Fukada Kyūya, author of *Nihon Hyakumeizan*.
