Mt. Ikazuchi

Ikazuchi-yama is a 636 m peak in Okinoura, Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture, on the northwestern flank of the Hakkōda volcanic group. The slopes harbour one of Japan's larger Katakuri (dogtooth-violet) colonies, the "Katakuri-no-Komichi," opened to visitors only in late April to early May each year. From the summit, both Iwaki-san and the Hakkōda peaks can be seen. The mountain is owned by the local Asashio Property Association, with access via a paid shuttle-bus service operated together with Aoni Onsen volunteers. The mountain is included in the Aomori 110 Mountains list.
