Mt. Honjin is a 252 m hill some 1.5 km east of Tottori Castle in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture, included in the regional Bunken Tozan Guide for Tottori. Its summit area, known as Taikō-ga-naru, is the headquarters Hashiba (Toyotomi) Hideyoshi built when he besieged Tottori Castle in 1581, and the well-preserved central enclosure with massive earthen ramparts and dry moats is part of the nationally designated historic site 'Tottori Castle Ruins with Annex Taikō-ga-naru.' A ridge traverse links the peak with neighboring Mt. Kyūshō (Tottori Castle).
