Mt. Busshougatake

Busshōgatake is a 1,804.7 m peak in Kamikitayama Village, Yoshino District, Nara Prefecture, near the boundary with Shimokitayama and Totsukawa villages, set on the main ridge of the Ōmine Range midway between Hakkyōgatake and Shakagatake. It is a station on the Ōmine Okugakemichi pilgrim trail — a component of the UNESCO World Heritage "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range" — linking the two great peaks via Kujakudake and the Yōji-ga-shuku emergency shelter. The summit lies within Yoshino-Kumano National Park, on a ridge cloaked in old-growth Veitch's silver fir, Maries' fir and beech.
