Mount Mafuji

真富士山

Mafujiyama (1,343 m) stands on the boundary between Aoi and Shimizu wards of Shizuoka City, on the ridge dividing the Abe and Okitsu rivers. Also called the "First Mafujiyama" to distinguish it from the Second Mafujiyama (1,401 m) to the north, its Hirano trail is lined with many stone Buddhist statues, and its summit looks out over Suruga Bay and Mount Fuji. It is among "Shizuoka's 100 Mountains."
