Mount Komagatake is a 1,356-metre peak in central Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, and one of the central cones of the Hakone volcano. Within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, its summit area is reached by the Hakone Komagatake Ropeway from Hakone-en on Lake Ashi. The grassy summit holds the Hakone-jinja Motomiya inner shrine and offers views of Mount Fuji, Lake Ashi and neighbouring Kamiyama. Rhododendron tsusiophyllum and other plants grow on windswept rocks, and the mountain preserves terrain formed by overlapping lava flows.
