Furebetsudake

Furebetsudake stands on a ridge extending east from Meakandake, with the third-order triangulation point 風烈岳 at its summit. Its name comes from the Furebetsu River and the Ainu words for “red river.” There is no hiking trail. Climbers mainly visit while snow remains, ascending from Akanko Onsen to the saddle with Mount Hakuto and following the ridge to the summit.
