Suttsu Town Ski Area is a small municipal hill close to the centre of Suttsu, a fishing town on the Sea of Japan coast of Hokkaido. Run by the town board of education, its fairly gentle slope is a safe place for children to learn, and ski classes are held there. It opens on weekday afternoons after school and from the morning at weekends and holidays, and stays open into the evening every day so locals can keep skiing into the evening. The season runs from early January, once enough snow has settled, to about mid-March.
