Oyu Onsen Ski Area Closed
Official name 大湯温泉スキー場
Akita
Closed in 2001
Oyu Onsen Ski Area was a ski area at the Oyu hot-spring village (Towada-Oyu) in Kazuno, Akita Prefecture. A public foundation built the Kuromori Youth Hostel as part of its facilities. The ski area was abolished in 2001, while the hostel, with its own flowing hot-spring bath, carried on until March 2012, when its subsidy ended and the ageing building closed. It should not be confused with the Oyu Onsen Ski Area in Uonuma, Niigata, which closed in 2021.
