Iwakisan Skyline Ski Area Closed
Official name 岩木山スカイラインスキー場
Aomori
Iwakisan Skyline Ski Area was a spring-only ski area on the southwest flank of Mount Iwaki, the peak known as Tsugaru Fuji, reached by the Tsugaru Iwaki Skyline toll road to the eighth station. Because the road is closed by snow all winter, skiing was possible only for a short window after it reopened in late April, until around Golden Week, with the road company as operator. Spring skiing continued until around the mid-2010s, but no ski operation is advertised today; the road and the chairlift from the eighth to the ninth station now serve hikers and sightseers.
