Aomori Spring Ski Resort trail map
Aomori Spring sits on the northern slopes of Mt. Iwaki, the highest peak in Aomori, where runs wind through old-growth beech forest and reliable snowfall keeps the snow dry and light. A gondola climbs to 921 m, and a 3.4 km run descends with views of the Tsugaru Plain and the Sea of Japan. Most of the 22 courses are beginner or intermediate, suiting families, yet steeper ungroomed pitches up to 30 degrees await experts. Its 22-foot halfpipe and terrain park serve as a training base for Japan's national snowboard team, and guided backcountry tours explore Mt. Iwaki. A hotel with hot springs stands at the base, and the season runs from mid-December into early April.
