Nagano

Closed in 2010

Hijiriyama Panorama was a city-run ski area on Mt. Hijiri in the Ōoka district of Nagano City, between about 1,200 and 1,400 m. Two lifts served five runs, mostly gentle beginner and intermediate slopes with one steeper run, and snowboarding was allowed everywhere; there was no night skiing. With visitor numbers falling, the city announced in November 2008 that it would abolish the area, and it closed after the 2009-10 season. The neighbouring Hijiriyama Panorama Hotel still operates.
