Harayama Shimin Ski Area Closed
Official name 原山市民スキー場
Gifu
Open 1963–2008
Harayama Shimin Ski Area was a small town hill on Harayama, close to central Takayama in Gifu. Skiing on the slope dates back to the 1920s, and its first lift was built in 1963. Three gentle runs between about 620 m and 730 m, served by a pair chair and a single chair, made it mainly a beginners' area, and it also offered night skiing for local residents. It closed after the 2007-08 season and the lifts were removed. The site has become Harayama Citizens' Park, with an artificial-turf sledding slope, large play equipment and a dog run, and snow play in winter.
