Hamamasu Sonmin Ski Area Closed
Official name 浜益村民スキー場
Hokkaido
Open 1982–2008
Hamamasu Sonmin Ski Area was a village-run hill on the south side of Suribachiyama, a 169-metre hill in the Kashiwagi district of the former Hamamasu village, now part of Ishikari City. It opened in 1982 with a single drag lift of about 375 metres and two beginner-to-intermediate runs on roughly 100 metres of vertical, and it served mainly local families. It usually ran from early January to late February, with no night skiing. After Hamamasu merged into Ishikari in 2005, the 2007-08 season was its last. The base lodge has been demolished, and a fire station branch and a community hall now stand at the foot of the slope.
