Shokanbetsudake Ski Area trail map
Shokanbetsudake Ski Area is Mashike town's own hill, about 5 km south of the town centre, with the snowy bulk of Mt. Shokanbetsu above and the Sea of Japan below. Two pair lifts reach six runs, from gentle family slopes to the Dynamic Course certified by the Ski Association of Japan. It is a small local hill, and night skiing runs on Fridays and Saturdays in January and February and on weekdays in March. A Nordic-style wooden lodge has a cafeteria serving ramen and curry. The season runs from late December to mid-March, and on winter weekends a free ski bus comes from the Michi-no-Eki Rumoi roadside station.

One morning run out and one return leaving the ski area at 16:30. Also boards at Kyu-Abun-sho-mae, Shaguma Post Office and Mashike Town Culture Center
