Mount Kogane is a 739.1-meter peak in the Hamamasu district of Ishikari City, Hokkaido, whose elegant cone earns it the nicknames "Hamamasu Fuji" and "Golden Fuji." Known to the Ainu as Pinnetai-Orushipe, "the male mountain that rises from the wooded plain," it was designated a Japanese National Place of Scenic Beauty in 2009 as one of the Pirikanoka ("beautifully shaped") sites associated with Ainu cultural heritage. The peak sits within Shokanbetsu-Teuri-Yagishiri Quasi-National Park and is counted among the 100 famous mountains of Hokkaido.
