Geihoku Ginrei Ski Area Closed

Official name 銀嶺スキー場

Hiroshima

Opened in 1976

Ginrei was a small ski area in former Geihoku town, now Kitahiroshima, in northern Hiroshima Prefecture, beside National Route 186 near the Sensui lake of Ohdomari Dam. It opened in 1976 with three lifts and three short, mostly north-facing runs aimed largely at beginners. It had snowmaking and offered night skiing on Fridays and evenings before holidays, but it struggled with thin snow and in its last years opened only at weekends. It closed around the early 2000s; the lifts and base building have been removed, though the floodlight poles still stand.
