Fujisato Ski Slope Closed
Official name 藤里町営スキー場 · Formerly 板清水スキー場
Akita
Open 1978–2025
Fujisato Ski Slope was a small town-run ski hill in the Fujikoto district of Fujisato, Akita Prefecture, near the Shirakami Mountains. It opened in 1978 as Itashimizu Ski Area with a single rope tow and later gained a two-seat chairlift; its two runs were up to about 400 metres long. It was where local children learned to ski and was enjoyed by winter-sports fans from in and around the town. Heavy rain in July 2023 caused part of the slope to collapse, and the town, finding the hill too hard to keep up, ended the business before the 2025 winter season.
