Yakushisan Ski Area is a small city-run family hill on 187 m Mount Yakushi, right beside National Route 7 in the Imaizumi district of Kitaakita, Akita. Two T-bar lifts serve the slope, and its easy roadside access draws families from Noshiro and Odate as well as locals. LED floodlights make it popular for after-work night skiing and club training, and it hosts school ski lessons and the city ski race. The lodge houses the Torigoe canteen, and the upper slope looks out over the Takanosu basin to Mount Moriyoshi. The season runs from late December to early March at very low prices.
