Asahi Tenguston Snow Park Closed
Official name アサヒテングストンスノーパーク · Formerly 旭テングストンスキー場
Shimane
Open 1995–2020
Asahi Tenguston Snow Park was a ski area on the slopes of Mt Tenguishi in the former town of Asahi, now part of Hamada, and opened in 1995. A gondola and several chairlifts served eight runs over about 530 m of vertical, including a 3 km cruise, and in good years it drew around 100,000 visitors a season. Its name joins the town's name with the mountain. A run of thin winters ended it: it managed only 25 days in 2018-19, never opened in 2019-20, and the operator moved into bankruptcy in February 2020. The gondola and buildings were left standing.
