Takasugiyama (1,148 m) rises in the Saioto area of Kitahiroshima, Yamagata District, Hiroshima Prefecture, close to the Shimane border. The Utopia Saioto ski resort spreads across its western foot, with a chairlift reaching the summit. It overlooks the village of Saioto—linked to a legend that the defeated child-emperor Antoku hid here after the Battle of Dan-no-ura—and from the top there are views over the Chūgoku Mountains. It is counted among the Hiroshima 100 Mountains and the Hiroshima prefectural climbing guide.
