Mount Ōzue (997 m) sits astride the border between Kitahiroshima Town in Hiroshima Prefecture and the former Kanagi area of Hamada City in Shimane Prefecture, opposite the Geihoku-Taisa ski resort. From mid-May into June its summit area glows red with Daisen-mitsubatsutsuji and renge azaleas, drawing hikers to a 'flower mountain' that is also one of the certified peaks of the Hiroshima Kita Satoyama-King program. The mountain features in the Hiroshima 100 and Hiroshima Prefecture 100 lists.
