ARAI MOUNTAIN RESORT trail map
Arai Mountain Resort spreads over Mount Ogenashi in Myoko and is known for deep snowfall and vast ungroomed terrain. A 951 m vertical and cruising routes of up to 7 km link the summit to the base, while ten freeride zones such as Zendana Bowl and Mamushi host freeride competitions. Gentle slopes at the bottom suit beginners and children, and the on-site hotel, onsen and English-language ski school make it popular with families and overseas visitors. The resort runs without snowmaking and spring skiing lasts into early May. It is a short drive from the Arai interchange and a shuttle ride from Joetsu-Myoko Shinkansen station.

Leaving the ski area boundary is not managed or patrolled; crossing ropes or entering closed areas means losing the lift ticket, and search and rescue outside the boundary is charged.
