Aonoyama Higashi Ski Area Closed

Aonoyama Higashi was a ski area on Mt. Aono in Tsuwano, Shimane, open from about 1984 until about 2000. Skiing on the mountain goes back much further: an earlier Aonoyama ski ground on the Aonogawara slopes hosted a local ski club and school ski classes before closing in the 1960s or 1970s, as it had no lifts and snowfall declined. The Higashi ski area was a later, separate slope and stopped operating around 2000.
