Tokusagamine Ski Resort trail map
Tokusagamine is the only ski area in Yamaguchi Prefecture, set at about 600 m on the slopes of Mount Tokusagamine in Ato, Yamaguchi city. It relies entirely on natural snow, so its lift turns on only a handful of days each winter, which has earned it the nickname of a 'phantom ski area' among fans. The grassy beginner-to-intermediate slope can open with just 20 to 30 cm of snow, and alongside the pair lift on the Center slope there are advanced and wooded runs and a sledding course. In summer the site is an auto campground and mountain bike park.
