Mt. Yaotomeyama

Mt. Yaotomeyama is a peak in the Tonami Hills rising at the southeastern edge of Inami district in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture. Its northern peak (751.6 m) carries a third-class triangulation point named 'Toritsuka', while the highest point on the southern peak reaches 756 m. The triangulation point together with a nearby wind cave, the great cedar and remains of a historic battlefield (where Zuisen-ji forces clashed with Lord Jinbō of Masuyama Castle) are designated Nanto City Historic Sites; a wind-pacifying shrine (Fūjin-dō) stands south of the summit and hosts the annual Yaotomeyama Fūjin-dō Festival every June. The peak is climbed in about two hours round-trip from the Kanjōji Park overlook at Inami, and is route 81 in Toyama Prefecture's mountain grading system. It appears in the Toyama 100 Mountains and Etchū 100 Mountains selected by the Toyama Alpine Federation, and the Japan 1003 Elevation Mountains.
