Mt. Tōgō

Mt. Tōgō is a 977.4 m peak straddling Yuki-chō in Saeki Ward and Numata-chō in Asaminami Ward of Hiroshima City — the highest summit within the city limits. On its northern Wada-side slope stands the famous "Shihon-sugi", a Japanese cedar splitting into four trunks at about 3 m above ground (around 400 years old, 11.5 m circumference, 46 m tall), designated by the Forestry Agency among Japan's 100 Great Trees. Maintained trails from Wada (Yuki) and Toyama (Numata) reach the summit in 2–3 hours, giving a west-facing view to Mt. Amida, Mt. Ōmine and distant Mt. Rakan. Listed in Hiroshima 100 Famous Mountains and Hiroshima 100.
