Mount Madoga (West Peak)

A 712 m twin-peaked mountain on the border of Asaminami and Saeki wards in Hiroshima City. The name ("window mountain") refers to the dramatic vertical drop between its east and west summits, which opens like a window. The triangulation point sits on the western peak, and the granite summit blocks offer wide views over Hiroshima, Miyajima and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. The east slope is managed by the City of Hiroshima as Madogayama Ikoi-no-Mori (recreation forest), with the central trail reaching the summit in about 50 minutes. Listed on Hiroshima Hyakuzan, Chūgoku Hyakumeizan and other regional 100-mountain lists.
