Mt. Shiroyama is a 563.6 m peak on the southeastern flank of the old outer rim of the Hakone volcano, in Yugawara Town, Kanagawa Prefecture; its summit holds the town-designated historic site Doi-jō Ato, the ruins of a medieval mountain castle attributed to Doi Sanehira, the local lord who served Minamoto no Yoritomo. Terraced enclosures connected by steps survive in classic yamashiro form, and the broad summit looks out across Sagami Bay to the Izu islands. A maintained hiking course climbs from Yugawara Station via Jōgan-ji, Gosho-jinja and Shitodo-no-Iwaya cave; the mountain lies within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.
