Mt. Iwato (734 m) rises on the border between Atami City in Shizuoka Prefecture and Yugawara Town in Kanagawa Prefecture, and its conical profile earns it the nickname "Yugawara Fuji." It is included in the 100 Furusato Fujis and 60 Mountains with Views of Fuji lists. The summit looks out over central Atami and Sagami Bay, with the Miura and Bōsō peninsulas and — on clear days — Mt. Fuji in the distance. A six-kilometer round trip of about three hours from Hime-no-sawa Park makes a popular hike, and the ridge connecting toward Jukkoku Pass is lined with stone Buddhas along the so-called Sekibutsu-no-Michi.
