Mt. Ōwashiyama

Mt. Ōwashiyama is an 817-meter peak in Asahi Town, Shimoniikawa District, Toyama Prefecture, marking the northern tip of the Japan's Northern Alps. It divides the watersheds of the Sakai and Sasa Rivers, and because the trailhead lies almost at sea level, the round-trip takes about five hours. The summit overlooks the Asahi coastline, the Tateyama Range from Mt. Tsurugi to Mt. Shirouma, and on clear days the Noto Peninsula. The peak is listed in Toyama Mountaineering Federation's Hyakuzan, the Shin Etchū 100, and Toyama prefectural hiking guides.
