Mount Kyōdai is a 1,269 m peak straddling Chikuma City, Ueda City and Sakaki Town (Hanishina District) in Nagano Prefecture and marking the northernmost point of Sakaki Town. Its summit is a shallow saddle from which, viewed from Obasute in Chikuma City, the moon appears to rise framed in the dip like a mirror stand (kyōdai) — the source of its name and one of the Obasute Thirteen Views. The mountain was widely popularised by Andō (Utagawa) Hiroshige's ukiyo-e Shinano Sarashina Tagoto-no-Tsuki Kyōdai-yama. Trails from Sakaki, Sasadaira and Kurashina are described by the Shinshu Mountain Guide and the Sakaki Tourism Association. The peak appears in the Shinshu Furusato 120 and the Shinshu Satoyama Hiking Map lists.
